A common sense approach to email
This would involve sending text only emails guarrenteeing anyone can read it devoid of html, pdf, any proprietry format (not everyone uses a webbrowser, pc or microsoft for that matter)
In the body make certain you keep your message short & to the point with particular attention to removing anything not relevant like disclaimers/virus warnings/copies of previous emails that most people already have and don't need another copy of.
If you do need to provide a disclaimer of sorts then put the content in text browser readable html, place it on a website & include the url to that page instead.
Also keep whatever signature to 4lines of 80characters or less.
For the purposes of easy recall for potential customers use a sane from in your replies, ie anything other then info, sales or other very common name
Assumptions like :
Everyone uses the same software I do
Everyone knows exactly what I know
My email is of higher importance then everyone elses.
The person receiving my email/reply has nothing better to do but to wait for my email to be retrieved/read/reply to it
There is unlimited diskspace to store my email on all the servers between my email client & it's destination address
Everyone has access to a taxpayer funded/subsudised, unlimited bandwidth link
should not be made
