For the record, I HATE counters but enough people have been curious about how many people have been pouring in that I thought I would be nice and add one to the page. I had originally made the graphic a PNG file since I thought only hardcore techies would ever see it. Since the joke is much, much more popular than I ever imagined I created the alternate GIF version. The PNG file is still smaller though. :) The guy who convinced me to make a GIF version also touched the cement block a little. Kudos go out to David Darrow (e-mail withheld) for the great touch-up job he did on the cement block. It had always bothered me but I was in a rush to finish and never got around to fixing it. I thought it looked so good I decided to use it for the site. A lot of people have been asking me for permission to post this graphic on their website. I'm just glad to make people laugh so don't worry about it, go right ahead. If you can give me credit that's cool, but I'm not trying to get famous and don't demand recognition. I do like e-mail though and I'd like to thank everyone who has sent me mail. A lot of the comments were funny and made me laugh. If I don't respond though, please don't take it personally. I've lost count of the number of e-mails, but it's still really cool to see all the comments I'm getting. Disclaimer: Windows CE, Windows ME, and Windows NT are registered trademarks of Microsoft. "Windows CEMENT" is nothing more than a fictional creation and any resemblance to any past, present, or future trademarked product is purely coincidental. A personal note to the one guy who sent me the vicious e-mail and anyone else who takes personal offense to this: This cartoon is just meant to be a joke. I've heard many stories of techies around the world posting this in their local work areas and can imagine that this is happening even at Microsoft. I am not directly slandering the company or any of the products, just a totally fictional construct of my own. UPDATE: Evidently this is being massively passed around at Microsoft. The guy who sent the flame said that he'd sent an e-mail to Microsoft so that they would sue me. All he managed to do was make it even more popular. ROFL |
