Within each &#8216;project&#8217; there are some main technical objectives and properties of each flight.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Obtain Amatuer Rocket Certification L1<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Solid Composite Motor<\/li>\n<li>Parachute Recovery<\/li>\n<li>Launch Platform<\/li>\n<li>Launch Electroncs<\/li>\n<li>Multiple flights likely<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Obtain Amatuer Rocket Certification L2<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Solid Composite Motor<\/li>\n<li>Parachute Recovery<\/li>\n<li>Spin stabilisation<\/li>\n<li>Basic electronics (Tracking + Camera + Sensors)<\/li>\n<li>Multiple flights likely<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Obtain Amatuer Rocket Certification L3<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Purchased Hybrid Rocket Engine<\/li>\n<li>Drogue Parachute + Parachute Recovery<\/li>\n<li>New Launch Platform<\/li>\n<li>More advanced electronics (Tracking + Camera + Sensors + acutators for Parachutes)<\/li>\n<li>Multiple flights likely<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Design\/Build Nitrous Hybrid Rocket<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perform test burns and characterise the engine over different initial conditions (So we can accurate simulate it).<\/li>\n<li>Construct Rocket for new Rocket Engine<\/li>\n<li>Drogue Parachute + Parachute Recovery<\/li>\n<li>New Launch Platform<\/li>\n<li>Perform multiple Test Flights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Rackoon<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Build Launch platform<\/li>\n<li>Build electronics<\/li>\n<li>Build Hybrid Rocket<\/li>\n<li>Design\/build\/organise Balloon systems<\/li>\n<li>Perform test Flights (controlled, small ones)<\/li>\n<li>Perform Flight<\/li>\n<li>Ultimately perform Rackoon Flights<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>NOTE<\/strong>: I suspect this last part project will be a lot longer to complete than the other ones.<\/p>\n<p>I expect things to change as take this journey. However, I believe that is a sensible good start.<\/p>\n<p>Obviously timeframes is one area that I need to think about. This series of projects looks huge, and indeed it is. But I believe that with some careful planning, we can re-use components and techniques used from prior projects.
